New Growth This Spring

It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to sit down and revisit the blog. One of the things I often say to colleagues is “you’re better off not having a blog than one that’s not updated regularly”. Writing has always been an outlet for me, and this blog has been a lot of fun to work on over the last year. Expect a lot more from it in the coming months!

So far this year has been a wild one for us here at Rusty Fox Media. There’s been a lot of great growth, I’ve met some incredible people, brought awesome clients on board and even said goodbye to a few that have been a part of the story for years.

One of those clients that we’re parting ways with is Dan Bailey’s Outdoor Co in Livingston, Montana. Client churn is a fact of life, but these guys were special. They were the very first client I ever had as an “official” marketing agency and they took a chance on me during the depths of 2020 - a time when not a lot of places were looking to invest in their marketing. Dan Bailey’s enabled me to get my foot in the door and has been an incredible core client for the last 4.5 years.

As we approach the end of my services there (entirely by my choice), it’s interesting to reflect back and ruminate on all the lessons learned during my tenure at the store. Working here helped my dial my systems in, taught me to be more efficient, how to pitch new ideas, how to handle a worldwide crisis PR event, and how to deal with people as a business owner and contractor.

On one hand it’s bittersweet, leaving a long term and stable client, but on the other it’s incredibly exciting to have that time back to pursue new projects with engaged clients. I wish the team over at Dan Bailey’s the very best and I will be maintaining the friendships I’ve built there over the years.

2025 is going to be a year of change for us. I’m cutting back on photography and content creation, while diving deeper into CPC ad management, brand strategy, and web design/SEO. We will continue to be a full-service “one stop shop” for all your digital marketing needs and asks, even if that full service includes a referral to another creator within my network.

We’ve got some incredibly exciting stuff coming up, so stay tuned on the blog and social media channels for new client highlights, projects and lots of great photography. None of this would be possible without the people supporting me - clients, friends, colleagues and family. Thank you for the opportunity.

On to bigger and better things!
